Should small children have a time table?
- We often think small children esp. toddlers need not have a time table. However, it is the right age to make them follow time and do works in time. If they learn it when they are young it becomes easy for them to follow later on.
- Many parents do this, but the wrong way - they do all works themselves. This increases stress in them and also takes away the opportunity from children to learn to do their things on their own.
- The right way of doing it is to teach them how to do their works. When they do their works on their own in time, appreciate them by rewarding small gifts or giving stars.
- If they do their works all in time on a particular day, you can take them to a park as a reward.
- If suppose they continuously do their works in time and also show proper behaviour then you can take them to beach or bigger park or picnic or to a place they like.
- Remember that whatever be the reward, explain clearly why they got it. The should realize that they are getting the rewards because of completing works in time on their own and showing good behaviour.
- Remember to announce rewards before hand and make sure they are rewarded in time.
